The Amazon Basics Beginner Full-Size 6-String Acoustic was a surprise winner. At this price, beginners won't be disappointed with the budget guitar they will receive. It's just as good-looking as our favorite choice, the Fender FA-125, and with its large dreadnought body, it's capable of a big, booming sound. The intonation, though not impeccable, was absolutely passable. It also seems to have a pretty solid structure to it. Picks like to disappear, but you won't have to worry about purchasing extra since this kit includes six good-quality ones. The included e-tuner was our favorite tuner we encountered, with a nice, bright display and a flexible head.
Although this guitar has a decent sound, when compared to the other full-sized guitars we tested, the tone was less balanced, more bass-heavy, and thinner and more metallic. This guitar did fall out of tune a little easier and had some accuracy issues with tuning, but once the strings were worn in and stretched, these problems seemed to resolve. Of all the full-sized guitars we tested, the strings on this one felt the cheapest; they were thicker and hard to depress, which can be discouraging to beginners. They sound fine, but for a better sense when playing, we recommend re-stringing this guitar with light-gauge strings of a higher quality.

 were wonderful additions. The only things that could've made it more complete/better would've been re-stringing tools and a kapo. Oh and if they're going to include strings, they really should've included instructions for re-stringing it as well, but alas, you'll have to find a YouTube video for that. The quality and craftsmanship of the guitar itself is very nice, especially for the money!! I was super impressed with the feel and the sound!  What I was not so impressed with was the fact that the guitar wouldn't hold its tuning for very long

 Comes in a nice carry bag, has extra accessories like picks and strings. Cost under $150, but for about the same price you can get a name brand guitar without all the added accessories; so it's a good price for the little extras that you get. AmazonBasics are a hit or miss with a lot of their products, some are good, some are equivalent to the dollar store stuff.

 This one is actually a delightful set for beginners of all ages who want to learn guitar basics without busting their bank account. Great bang for your buck if you're a beginner!

 Anyone can customize it to make it look more professional.  While intermediate to more advanced guitar players probably won't be impressed with this guitar, it's not made for that audience - it's specifically for beginners as an extremely basic guitar and nothing more, so I'm reviewing it as such. You WILL want to upgrade later on, if you stick with it. That said, both my husband and I agreed that it's a very good one for beginners, and combined with the "starter pack" that is actually quite decent, this is really a nice set to get for someone who is just starting out (or perhaps has a general interest in learning it here and there)

Since this is an AmazonBasics "brand," I can't imagine it being over-priced (again - no pricing is listed at the time of writing this, so I have no way of knowing for sure what they're going to price it at), so I'm going out on a limb and assuming this whole set will be at least comparable to or less than others at this level. The fact that they include almost everything to get you started will undoubtedly be of a good value to begin with, and for someone getting this as a gift, it's perfect - you need nothing more to buy (except maybe some music books)!  Overall, this was actually better than I was expecting, and I love it when products exceed my expectations

 This comes with an impressive amount of accessories - basically, everything you need to get started, minus the sheet music - and is a perfect "one-stop shop" for a beginner who may not be looking to initially invest a whole lot of dough on something like this.  Guitars are one of those musical instruments that require replacement parts from time to time, so it's really nice to have them included in this set. You get a couple of picks, some replacement strings, a tuner, a guitar strap, and a carrying case. There's also included instructions, which show you how to replace the strings - something essential that all beginners will need to know, obviously

 As you can tell it's not very bassy because it's that parler size guitar doesn't have a huge bass, it has a little bit more pronounced highs and mids, but but overall it's a it's a well well voiced guitar for this price range.  the the the front and back and sides are Agathis which is a tone wood that's a little bit less expensive. It's a little bit softer wood which gives it a nice a nice sound for this this level of guitar. The bridge and the fingerboard are rosewood so they're familiar materials for guitars. The tuners are open back which is kind of cool

[QUESTION] best starter guitar for blues / blues rock

 Hey guys, Glenn Hayworth from Hayworth's back again with another review. I've got the Gretsch G9500 in my hands today. Nice little Jim Dandy parlour size by Gretsch at a budget that won't break the bank. I like these parlour size guitars, they're light, they're easy to cart around, but you get that nice bright chimey sound out of them too

 This has got an Agatha's body, it's got a NATO neck, check that nice matte finish on the body there, a nice sunburst finish on the top. It's got a Rosewood fretboard, Rosewood bridge, nice big fret markers there too. So have a listen and see how this sounds, I'm going to play this song right here, you can hear the bright sound that comes out of this guitar.

GRETSCH JIM DANDY 60 SECOND REVIEW

 I've only played maybe a handful, but I can't say that for other guitar brands and other guitar models. I've seen various shifts in quality. Let's say so I found this to be very consistent but yeah, I just like that price I mean that's a really accessible price and I think you get a lot of guitar for that amount of money. Number two is just the sound I Like parlor guitars I like smaller guitars like this I'll just play for a second I feel like it's this is very resonant [Music] Maybe if I played good, that'd be good [Music] I like the way it sounds I like this

 Number three action on this was great. It's very easy to play, very comfortable and you know I I'm just in an apartment here. it doesn't take up a ton of space I Know that sounds silly, but you know an apartment was A with a kid in it and tons of toys every every little bit of space you can save definitely matters. So yeah, it's great

 but I often will stand and actually just play this without a strap. and I like this, you can just start tuck it under your elbow and you can just hold it easily. It's not that heavy. it's gonna be great if you if you're a new student to picking up guitar or you're you think about your kid ridiculous bass guitar for Christmas we want to get him acoustic guitar I would recommend this action on mine was was I guess maybe this goes back to feels great

 I Don't know. Anywho, yeah, just it feels great. It's I like the I guess the next I was ever say is number four which is size and weight so you know it's not a it's not a huge big giant jumbo guitar you had a guitar on. It feels very comfortable to play

5 Reasons I Love the Gretsch Jim Dandy Guitar

 Some of them you can get for cheaper than this. What I like about this is it embraces that kind of idea, but it is still a well put together instrument. I have not had any sort of functionality or quality problems with it other than it needing a setup which is not a typical of any other guitar. And the thing that I really enjoy about it is that it is so inviting to pick up and play

 It is owning what it is. There's two words that I would use to describe this guitar: Charming and spunky and and it nails them both at the same time, which is kind of an interesting thing. All in all, what I would say is that for an inexpensive guitar, this has held up for a couple of years. It quality wise has held up very, very well

 It's something that you can kind of dive into. It has this very nice little plucky parlor tone. almost sounds a little bit ukulele ish. If you play, you know if you kind of strum with your fingers and you play on the higher frets and again I'm not saying it sounds like ukulele, but you know it's got that

 It is totally embracing the fact that it's supposed to be like an older, inexpensive guitar that for the most part beginners would have played on. It would be something that you know families might have ordered for their kids from a catalog to get them to start playing guitar. They weren't the best, necessarily manufactured instruments. If you've ever actually played one of them, they're still floating around

Gretsch Jim Dandy: 2 Year Review

 If you're looking for a mind-blower, this probably won't do it. However, it plays good right out of the box, feels solid, and sounds like a good little parlor. Gretsch was going for a throwback guitar, like one of those department store parlors from decades ago, and I think they nailed it. I have a Stella and a Regal from the early 70s (both of which I love), and this fits nicely alongside those

This is a pretty nice little guitar for the money. I was looking for a new parlor to have around the house, take outside, toss into the car for trips--and that's exactly what the Jim Dandy is perfect for. If you're looking for a mind-blower, this probably won't do it. However, it plays good right out of the box, feels solid, and sounds like a good little parlor

 All the interior bracing seems solid, well placed and firmly glued with no gaps or spaces, drips etc. showing. Likewise the neck joint seems equally well made. There is a strap button on the bottom of the body, the other end must be tied under the strings on the headstock, or another strap button must be added

 Sounds like it’s just aching for a coricedan bottle!  All in all I really can’t think of anything else to say other than I was really sceptical but hey this thing holds its own. For the money nothing else I have seen even comes close! I plan on using this live for a few songs.  WORD OF WARNING: This came FedEx. I have received several packages this month from them
