I have a Yamaha FG820. Great guitar for the price. I got it for sale on Amazon for like $220 on sale. The FG800 is basically the same guitar but the FG820 has mahogany back and sides.

The Yamaha FS800/FG800 is the king of starter guitars for a reason. But they actually aren't "starter" because they rival guitars even in the $600 price range. They're not beautiful per se, but they play great, stay in tune and sound good. Especially if you get it setup(although they come ready to play, I just prefer to lower the saddle a bit) They're also built like tanks.
