Conclusion time for a hundred dollars

 Now the trouble is largely for the most part, pretty detailed for the price. And I would not consider it to be under detailed as a whole, but there are some areas that I think sound a bit plasticky and unresolved. They're not super common, but they do happen from time to time. And sometimes you can get sort of this tamper blend where things sound always kind of artificial and not really metallic or flexible in other ways

 So it's kind of more out here a little bit in front and a little bit in back, but not super deep in front. And you are going to be able to hear things at a fairly large scale, especially for a closed back headphone, especially for a hundred dollar closed back headphone. These are going to seem quite big when they need to be. So if you're listening to something like an interstellar soundtrack for a hundred bucks, pretty great experience out of this thing

 Now, again, this is where open backs are going to beat this thing a little bit. So if you're considering both, just consider what you want from your music. $100 Closed Back Headphone Champs! AKG K361

 So on a recommendation from a friend who kept nagging and nagging and nagging me to pick this

 headphone up, I reluctantly bought it. And I reluctantly bought it because AKG's historically

 have not scored very high with me, but I was wrong. A hundred percent wrong. In fact,

 this headphone is now my top recommendation for a hundred dollar close back headphone.

 And that headphone is a K361 from AKG. This headphone is baller. Let's go ahead and get into

 it. So the build here is something that a lot of companies should be taking notes on. This provides

 a somewhat solid build that is highly flexible, quite light, and doesn't have any real negative

 pitfalls that I can see. It is soft touch, but solid plastic all the way around. It's got a

 silicone headband, tons of cup flexibility, including swivel and pivot. This does have a

 single sided locking connector, but it comes with two cables, one short and one long. The pads are

 pretty high quality at the price point at least, and easily removable, which is a big bonus and

 something that I think every headphone needs to be able to do. However, they do get a little bit hot,

 similar to basically every close back headphone. If you're wearing for a long enough time in a hot

 enough room, you are going to sweat a little bit. And all of this is happening in a pretty lightweight

 package that doesn't creak or crack or anything. When you spread it apart and give a little bit of

 stress, it's pretty solid. Now this headphone is pretty efficient also coming in at 32 ohms at

 114 dB per milliwatt. Now I would personally recommend something like a ship full with this

 at a hundred dollars. I think that's awesome, especially if you plan on gaming and adding a

 microphone to this, but you don't need it. And this thing actually sounds pretty great just off

 of an iPhone at about 75% volume is about the max I was playing this at, which at the hundred dollar

 asking price, I think is a really big selling point. So that way you don't have to invest a

 whole lot of extra money to get an amplifier. And one thing I do want to draw attention to here is

 that these are absolutely a fully closed back headphones. So they're not semi-closed and you

 can't really hear a whole lot that's going on. It's as effective as active noise cancellation is,

 but if you put these on, you're going to have a hard time hearing other people's voices. So you

 can hear yourself pretty, pretty loudly, but voices in like an office environment, this is absolutely

 to cancel it out. Not that too many people are working in offices right now. Now regarding the

 sound quality, I'm surprised at how uncompromised this headphone is for the price. I think this

 checks all the major boxes of audio and even check some boxes that some more hardcore audio files

 would pay attention to. Now I'm going to start off with some of the worst features and work my way

 up to some of the best. Trouble response is not great. If you are a more attuned listener,

 you are going to notice some missing frequencies in the trouble response. It's not anything that

 I would say is a massive detriment to the sound quality and doesn't take away from what I consider

 the overall picture of the sound. But if you have a really attentive ear, you will pick up on a

 little bit of lack of stuff like that. Now the trouble is largely for the most part, pretty

 the other things that are really impressive about this. I think. All right. Mid-range in short,

 I think this is absolutely killer for the money. I don't know if it's as much of a world beater

 as the SHP 9600, which is actually on sale right now for $76, which is a screaming deal.

 And it's probably this thing's open back counterpart. And I think right now I'm going

 to put a stop on this and I'm going to say this again in my conclusion. If you are looking for an

 open back headphone, I would probably pick the 9600 over this. But if you're looking for a close

 back headphone, I would recommend getting this wholeheartedly. And honestly for top two, for any

 category of headphones under a hundred dollars, I would pick either this one or the 9600, just

 depending on your needs. Now I do think in that comparison, the 9600 provides a little bit more

 openness and kind of isolation for the vocalists, but I'm actually surprised at how clear and
