But there are plenty of drawbacks that give me pause. Update: I ended up returning this laptop as the freezeups were happening more, even after I finished doing all of the windows/driver updates. Perhaps those will be fixed in future firmware patches, but I'd rather get a computer that functions "correctly" from day one. It's weird because as I mentioned, overall performance of this laptop is very impressive and far outshines my old 2 core macbook pro, but I don't have the same freezeups on the mac (running windows) - I imagine that this has something to do with lack of AMD drivers or something

If you fill out tons of forms or write lots of email and documents, meaning typing comfort and speed is critically important then you know why I spent more than the value of the computer adding the upgrades. Think Pad users get it.

Battery Life

Great laptop for students on a budget!

The charger plug doesn’t fit nicely into the computer. I have to push it in harder than I would like to get it to charge, and I always worry that it’s going to break. However, the battery life is so great that I’ve only had to charge it once in the past three days. I’ll update later when I’ve spent more time with it

**School, work and general use case**- I have to do a lot of work, from volunteering, school assignments( doing a lot of reviews during summer) and my hobby of Android dev work, messing with a PI( making a bunch of PI handhelds) and a lot of Geomatics modelling( I have a desktop but seeing a laptop do stuff like this just fills me with joy, 8c/ 16T on a laptop for 1000 CAD is wild), no complaints. **Battery life**- After a lot of BIOS update and drivers, battery has improved by a lot. I get 8 hr, long as your not doing CAD. So on wifi, doing a lot of lab reports, math practice, YouTube it will get 8 hr for me
