Performance

But there are plenty of drawbacks that give me pause. Update: I ended up returning this laptop as the freezeups were happening more, even after I finished doing all of the windows/driver updates. Perhaps those will be fixed in future firmware patches, but I'd rather get a computer that functions "correctly" from day one. It's weird because as I mentioned, overall performance of this laptop is very impressive and far outshines my old 2 core macbook pro, but I don't have the same freezeups on the mac (running windows) - I imagine that this has something to do with lack of AMD drivers or something

On my ThinkPad T480 with Intel UHD 620, I struggle to run many not-too-demanding games like Valorant and CS:GO at a smooth 60 fps without turning my graphics settings all the way down, and more demanding games like Fortnite (don't judge) straight up crash. I've looked through ThinkPad lineups, and some ThinkPads that I have found with dedicated graphics, like the X1 Extreme and the P1, have great performance but at the major cost of battery life, which is quite important to me.

Battery Life

Great laptop for students on a budget!

The charger plug doesn’t fit nicely into the computer. I have to push it in harder than I would like to get it to charge, and I always worry that it’s going to break. However, the battery life is so great that I’ve only had to charge it once in the past three days. I’ll update later when I’ve spent more time with it

Battery life of atleast 7 hours while running applications would be great. Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion. I was first looking into Thinkpad T480 and other models as I have had thinkpad for the last six years. But a friend of mine suggested brands such as MSI and Gigabyte and now I am not quite sure what to look for
