**Edit** to add: since the X13 "starts at" nearly 300g heavier than the X1 Nano, this is almost certainly the weight with the lower capacity 41 Wh battery. For the 54.7 Wh battery, I expect that the weight difference will be even worse. This seems far from "better in every way", I personally would even say that it's not better at all (I value low weight more than most people, though)

Slow and Glitchy for the Money

I think the wisdom of "Don't buy serial #1" applies to the X1 Nano. It is small and lightweight but the performance is lacking even with me purchasing the top-of-the-line with the i7 processor. I have had a number of strange glitches with some but not all working themselves out - keyboard stops working, computer won't start on reboot after update, etc. It's lots of little things that make this a poor computer

Battery Life

Need help with choosing a laptop for college

I intend to use the laptop for programming, netflix, maybe some light machine learning, and for taking notes during class, so I'd like a decent battery life too if possible. Here are my choices:. * Acer Aspire 5 (R7 4700U) - this is kind of a favorite of mine at the moment, it has the biggest battery of the bunch at 48Wh and the port selection is very solid too.

Nice machine overall but could be better.

At first, the battery life was disappointing but it's better now that I figured out how to disable the presence sensor. That feature was just an annoyance to a home user; I couldn't even go to the fridge and get a cold one before the X1 nano would go dark and force me to sign in again.

Size

Again, not even as loud as my old laptop so it doesn't bother me at all. WEIGHT: This is so lightweight! My old one was a bit heavy and clunky, so I appreciate the fact this is so light. The downside of that is that the casing does feel cheap. Like it might not survive getting dropped on the carpet

Thinking of buying a ThinkPad as entertainment device. Any model recommendation?

X1 Nano has a 2k screen but ok battery life and it’s gen1. I own one. The only thing it hits on your list is size but I like it and so do most reviewers. Not for everyone as you need to know what you’re getting but again I think it’s good
