 So I can move like this and I can see I have also preloaded a flanger, a drum machine and a looper. So I have the same limiter, the same EQ and then navigating I can see I have three more pedals and I have a chorus I'm not using right now, let's activate it, chorus, no chorus. The saving is automatic so you don't have to save every time you change something in the pedal board or in the pedal tube and you have a delay and a plate, this is the standard clean sound, delay, a little bit of reverb, I like it very much especially for the melodic slow solo. Coming back to the patch view, so check the difference in volume between these two patches, so clean, solo

 So first thing first, let's tune the bass. We use this pedal. This pedal is called Hold Tuner Tap Memory Stomp Exit. We call it Master because it's the most important pedal of this pedalboard

 I want to move to copy this sound to the patch number 5 because I like very much this distortion sound. So menu, ok, I'm going to swap, click patch number 4 to number 5, yes or no, yes I wanna do it, no I just want, so back, ok, my bad, lightning thunder, menu, I want to save it on 5, ok, yes, confirm and it's done. So I have two times this same patch but I want this as a solo, this is a real. So going in, removing the chorus right now and just check the volume of the last pedal I'm using, that is the graphic equalizer, ok, and check the difference between this number 5 and this number 4, not so much, not good

 So you can see I have the limiter and I'm using 2 screens for the graphic equalizer because he has more than 4 parameters. Back to the parameters overview and these are all the parameters.   The one reason this piece of kit doesn't get the 5-stars from me is the XLR socket. I've tried several leads in the back there and it's difficult to find one that fits snuggly so I'm going to replace the factory-supplied one with a Neutrik - sorted!  Overall, a bargain!

 Good lord, man. What even is that a USB audio IF for computer recording? It's an audio interface. So you just plug it into your computer. I use GarageBand, but it's great that you get that for free as well Now what I really really like about this is not only is the fact that it's so so damn versatile and you can do so Much with it It's got a hundred presets included 34 artists sound design by Victor Wooten, Frank Bello, Dave Elfson and Doug Wimbish So these guys get in there and do put their own effects and then you can like swap them around I'll show you a little bit more about that in a minute And Here's the unit itself isn't it a beautiful thing So number one we have hold for patch number two hold for tuner number three hold for looper There's a looper there the looper itself is a whole different video and I can't go in that today Okay, and so at the back we have just your input right there passive and active There's your DI controls right there, which is great your outputs if you want to change your outputs You're controlling USB

Oh, you've got a level so that's kind of like the volume I guess Yeah, and you can like go back into patch so for example I'm gonna go there obviously I'm doing this with my fingers the power of my fingers But in actual fact you would do it with your foot Okay, and so here we have a patch right so it's d5 and it's called big room Just give you an example of how this works Hold on to patch and then you go in then you go into the actual Options by itself at the moment all three lights are on so each one of these is actually working as it should be It's turned on basically. Okay, so It's just if you want to change them just go into here And if you want to turn it off, you just push that and it goes off. So for example here flip top I can turn up the mid so I can turn up the bass I can turn up the treble or turn down the treble over here in Reverb on the right hand side

After a short stint in guitar, I decided to revamp my setup and so I sold a few pedals with the idea of buying a multi fx pedal. 

The Helix stomp would be the ideal, but unfortunately my budget would definitely not allow that lol (just as it wouldn't allow buying separate pedals)

So I was thinking either Red/Black Truck by Mooer, but this is a guitar fx pedal, and I was wondering if anyone here had any luck with those on bass.

On the other hand, does anyone have any experience using the Boss GT-1B, ME-50B, or similar bass fx units?

I did not sell my favorite distortion pedals, because I read that the multi fx units did not perform od/distortion/fuzz very well.

I would probably end up using the fx unit for both bass and guitar, but primarily bass.

i started playing bass this past January, i have played acoustic guitar and other string instruments before so i’ve caught on somewhat quickly but i’ve never added effects. i play all genres of rock; i tend to prefer hair metal, punk, grunge, goth rock, classic rock, and indie rock. i especially like funky 70’s effects on guitar. i’m practically clueless when it comes to effects though. i’m currently using a Mitchell MB200 bass and an Acoustic brand amp. do you guys have any recs for pedals for beginners, especially pedals that are used across lots of genres? i’d really appreciate some input! :)

Novice looking for pedal recommendations

 You can also go straight into the PA.  As an audio interface I was really surprised - didn't really notice any notable latency and a surprisingly clean sound with no buzzing or humming. I would use this over my Line 6 toneport for recording bass for sure.  The looper is really easily triggered and find that the buttons are extremely responsive so you don't experience timing issues

 When I decided to spend more time on bass I researched some pedals. From reviews and having been very impressed with a friend's Zoom B2.1u I decided to go with the B3.  This pedal really delivers on sound quality - this the one of the best multi-effects pedals I've tried for the quality of the effects

The software for editing patches is very handy - there is no user bank as such, but you can use the software to restore to the factory patches and move stuff around as suits you best

 Hi folks, Zlat is here and this is Zoom B3 effects pedal. Let's go! This little guy is all in one box in a such small unit you got three switchable bass effects including amps and caps, tuner, metronome and drum machine, looper and audio interface ability. Isn't it great for a such size and price? On the front side we have three LCD screens with the foot switches and some parameter knobs for each effect. Those are really easy to use and it's very simple to tweak your sound on flight

 Big Muff, MX Sub SDI, Sans Am bass driver, Boss ODB3 and so on. I compared original Sans Am and MXR with Zoom just head to head and they sound the same. The synth story is pretty bad. If the filters are nice most of the things have really bad tracking but if you have some not so fast line it can sounds very well
