Night temps dropped to around 2-4 Celsius (35-39 F), I hang my hammock more for the view than warmth and the quilts were absolutely perfect. Great trip and I've never felt this fresh during and after 3+ night trip. Warbonnet gear is very well known and the Eldorado is so comfortable that the weight penalty compared to my previous hammock is well justified, but I want to give special shoutout to Cumulus as with things being kind of US centric it's not as much talked about.

This allows the pole to extend freely, but not compress further. That's not a problem as the guyline connector presses down on the pole. I'm probably not explaining it well, but while the poles only have a range of 110 - 130cm for hiking, they can go much lower for shelter use. Sunday was crap weather, so I swapped out the buckle suspension on my Warbonnet Eldorado for Whoopie Slings.
Finaly got to try out my new hammock and tent. Must say I'm way more pleased with the hammock.
Recently got a warbonnet Eldorado, and that 11ft hammock is a dream to sleep in. Also having your hammock hanging in a 30 degree swoop gives you more comfort, and a comfier lay.
Warbonet vs Dream hammocks
They do not have Knotty Mods or tie outs, nor do they need them. The Eldorado bug net tie out is a great feature. The quality of construction is excellent. The Warbonnet tarps are also excellent, I have a Minifly and really like it.
I don't care what it costs. I just want to sleep well. HELP!
My suggestion is a Warbonnet Eldorado with Beckit suspension and a Minifly tarp. Buy so titanium stakes and rope from them to tie off the tarp. Get two tarp ticks to use for the ridge line or six of them if you don’t want to tie knots for the stake outs on the tarp. If you buy all this stuff youll have a complete and comprehensive setup that’s light and fast as well as comfortable.
Seeking gear recommendation: Stealth Hammock Setup
I have a Warbonnet Eldorado which is basically a Blackbird and highly recommend it. The longest suspension Warbonnet sells is 15 feet so realistically since trees are usually at least a foot or two around and the hammock is 11 feet you’re going to come up short on a 40:foot tree spacing. I highly recommend the hammock and with their camo tarps and a camo underquilt the whole setup just disappears into the woods.
Is the Warbonnet Blackbird XLC worth it?
I like the Eldorado better than the XLC. I think it's because it's single layer and has more stretch. I also have a dutchwaregear chameleon in both regular and wide as well as about 5 other 11 foot netless hammocks in various fabric configurations. I think my favorites are the single layer Eldorado and the wide chameleon...
