Also, I always recommend the vortex diamondback HD for beginners. Usually around $250 for solid optics and good warranty. But also I like the Nikon Monarch M5 or M7 (Check REI or B&H Photo for possible deals). I’d go for 10x42 if you plan to get the tripod, but if no tripod then I suggest 8x42 (much less shake imo).

Just gonna be honest here and say any binocular under $100 is going to be shite. You need to budget at least $250 and get a name brand like Nikon or Vortex. I recommend either Vortex Diamondback HD 10x42 ($250 at Cabela’s) or Nikon Prostaff P7 10x42 ($199 at REI). These are both well known reputable brands.
