 Just to show you guys on the highest setting, you can see out here on my back porch, all the lights are off. So it's completely dark outside, but this thing definitely throws out some serious light. Now I don't know if you guys are going to see any kind of flickering or anything like that in the camera. These video cameras react weird to the light, but this does not have any kind of flickering or anything like that

 This thing is super compact, super lightweight, really bright, has great battery life, just an awesome all-around product. Now given that this lantern does run off of 3D batteries, if you're an ultralight backpacker, I'd encourage you to take a look at some of UST's smaller lighting products. They might be a better fit for you. However, for your average hiker, and especially those car campers out here, this might be the perfect lantern to meet your needs

 Now I don't know if you guys are going to see any kind of flickering or anything like that in the camera.  The Duro's diffuser screen provides a soft light, and it's easily removable for more concentrated illumination or use as a downlight. On high, the Duro is rated for a blinding 700 lumens. The extra brightness isn't as noticeable with a diffuser in place, but the Duro easily outpaces the smaller camping lanterns. The glow in the dark feature is nifty, but it's not always bright enough to help locate the lantern in the dark

UST 30-Day Duro Review - The Best Camping Lantern in 2021

The lamp looks OK, no more than OK, in fact the body of the lamp looks like it was the millionth out of the mould, but the real downer is trying to get the base / battery cap back on, it's very difficult to get the cap lined up with the base, if you have nothing better to do than spend ages playing about with it, then go for it, but, there's better lamps with better designs than this one, and just to add to the agony, the lamp takes D cells, they are difficult to come by, quite expensive, more so in rechargeables, I decided to "sleeve" AA cells and that works well, until I have to get the cap lines up.  All in all I'd give the lamp a 1 Star rating, but have you noticed how comments on products with a 1 star rating seem to disappear !!!  Would I buy again, definitely not, in fact if you lived next door, I'd give it you..

Bad cap design.

Bought this because it got high ratings on several backpacking sites. But found out last week, it is not bright enough to light up a car-camping site. You would need 3-4 of them, which may be a better and more full lighting setup, but an expensive one. The light seems well built so far, but I have had it only one season and not given it to my kids for the ultimate test
