Traeger Timberline 850

Ok so I have a timberline 850. Love the grill the app and the whole Traeger brand (for the most part keep reading) when I first got the grill I picked up some pit boss competition blend pellets from Walmart.

I love these. They got three stars because I normally purchase these at the store. I was running behind at life and ordered my pellets and these at the same time. They literally put them in a sealed bag with my pellets. They were fully flattened when they arrived.

I went with the Timberline 850 as the replacement due to the insulation. I live in a part of Canada that gets Arctic air flow and I wanted something I could use year round. Originally I was looking at the Pitboss Lockhart as a 3 season grill but read some mediocre reviews and decided, fuck it, I have the insurance money now, I'm going to treat myself!. I had held off until after the Traeger announcement hoping the 850 was going toget a refresh but when it didn't it was time to make the purchase.

They fit perfectly but are super pricey. I will use aluminum foil over them for shorter cooks. If I smoke something all day I will use them without foil. I have a Timberline 850, just got it new to me, and I don't use a smoke tube. I just change the way I cook especially for bigger cuts. I'm doing brisket this weekend and I'll do an overnight cook it'll go at 10 or 11pm at 195-200 with the super smoke on overnight. I'll get up at 7 and start spritzing while cranking the heat to 275.

I use these just to catch the trip from my grill, Paul Wall style. They work but are flimsy and bend easily, the do keep my small bucket clean so that’s good. I would like to find a cheaper option as for you toss this after so many uses. It gets the job done but still searching for other options.

Traeger Timberline 1300. Just did a couple of whole chickens and veggies for the breakin. Turned out fantastic. Long time lurker on reddit but I appreciate all the tips you guys and gals posting have given.

Timberline 850 here. I went with the Timberline because of the insulation and living in Montana. I've never had a problem with temps. I came from a GMG and Traeger is a night and day difference. Even got me a Ranger for camping.
