I have had a PRO 575 for 4 months now and the thing can’t hold a temp below 200. When set there it will run 40-50 degrees over and really doesn’t seem to be able to stay at or below 200. I’ve already replaced the thermocouple and controller and that hasn’t fixed anything. Traeger support said it’s a software issue, but they have no timeline for when it will get fixed.

I have the 575 - it’s enough for what you describe there. You’ll also save fuel over a 780 as less space to heat

Don't expect a lot of smoke from this unit. Takes a lot longer to get smoky flavor out of this unit. No smoke setting. I bought mine because I have friends that bought Traeger Pro 22's and they've worked well for them for many years. Also, when I bought my Pro 575 it was $100 off. Regretted it at first, had a couple issues, but then learned how to use it and have been happy ever since.

I ended up getting a pro 575 as a gift. Well I picked it out because my parents acquired a gift card to a sporting goods store that I didn't really need anything from until I found out they had pellet smokers that weren't listed on their website. I was honestly considering picking up the pit boss say Lowes due to the cost savings. I have a couple co-workers that have some and love them along with my old neighbor.

Overall great grill, the problem is it too big to be handled properly by one person so gets abused during shipping , best to buy and pick up vs having shipped to your door
