Thinkware X1000

Thinkware cameras allow for this type of setup. I personally have an X1000 and it’s been awesome so far! Only con is no wifi/cloud capabilities so footage has to be viewed manually.

1. Video records only for a 1 minute. All other dascams that i had before had a settings for how long should each video cycle be - 1/2/5/10 minutes. For me it's much useful to have a 1 video of 5 minutes riding instead of 1 short 1min video which gives nothing. 2. There is no button for "save" video...

I picked up and installed the Thinkware X1000 because it was on sale at best Buy. I also purchased the iVolt External Battery since I use the parking mode option where I live I need it in my neck of the woods. I did a hardwire installation on my own with the help of YouTube, the hardest part of my install was hiding all the wires. I have only tried the Thinkware products since my family members recommended it to me.

This is another level of dashcam. Except there is no way to set the right Time. May be firmware has some bug. Automaticaly time shift 4 hour everyday Firmware bugs made this nice hardware Junk.

The install was pretty simple (WRX and CX-5). The harder part was tucking away all the extra wiring for the rear dash cam. Front Cam: Could barely see plate numbers of others when in motion. The only time it is clear is when the car stops! Rear Cam: Worst video! Focused only on the heater lines. The cars behind are like painted Van Gogh style!

Bought OBD II power accessory with it. No hardwire since it would void warranty. So far works very well. No wifi. So you need a computer or SD card reader for your android phone.

After receiving this camera, we learned that it has to be hard-wired to the battery, for power. This item was returned, immediately.
