However, after only a few uses, the paint peeled around the top area. I contacted Thermos because it does have a 5-year warranty, so sent them a pic and they sent me a replacement

 Cleaning all the small areas inside the lid takes too much time and water. And like other people mention, handle doesn't line up with the opening so it feels awkward. 28$ for that? Thermos became terrible brand. 👎

Rubber seals stinks

I struggled so hard to get the lid off 99% of the time. It actually pushed me to the point of ticked me off and breaking it. I wasted $20, but they need a better design when it comes to the lid.

I love this thermal mug for its almost magical ability to keep hot things hot, even in a Wisconsin winter. I have owned several, and my previous mug experienced a significant dent in the bottom after many years of use rendering it unstable on a flat surface. This mug is my first encounter with the new design, almost all of which is aesthetic.  The THERMOS sticker (which washed completely away from the previous mug) has been replaced with a printed logo that has so far withstood almost daily cleanings

 Disassembly and reassembly are quick and easy (as long as it's in the OPEN position). Overall, this mug rocks it.

 This mug is my first encounter with the new design, almost all of which is aesthetic.  The THERMOS sticker (which washed completely away from the previous mug) has been replaced with a printed logo that has so far withstood almost daily cleanings. The matte finish is starting to chip along the bottom edge and in one small spot on the side, something a more durable, matte clear coat might have prevented. Aside from these, what remains is that great thermal insulation coupled with a three-piece lid design that's almost leakproof but does present some cleaning challenges

Since I needed a leak proof thermos a few days later, I decided to test it to see if the vacuum between the inner and outer containers was still present, and did a test in the refrigerator and on the counter to see how long warm water would stay warm. The vacuum insulation layer still was effective, so I gave it the real life test a few days later, and found that it performs as well as I had expected based on the product  description. After about 5 hours in a parked car in 30 degree weather on a cloudy day, the hot water I'd put into the thermos had cooled to a pleasantly warm water to drink on the way home.
