I have a pretty cheap tacx neo and it works great. Obviously a little louder than a direct drive trainer but not bad. Keep it in a lower gear and it’s fine. And I can get good power resistance in a fairly low gear - like 39/17 gives enough wheel speed for the electro magnet to provide resistance to well over 400W.

It's a dumb name, but it works really well and it allows me and my wife to both use it with just a quick change of the positions, as opposed to swapping our bikes on and off a trainer or having to buy two trainers.
