Saris Fluid 2

I definitely recommend going the used route. I didn't want to invest a ton of money upfront in a trainer before I knew I was committed to doing triathlons, so I found a Saris Fluid 2 trainer for $80 on Craigslist (retails for $330). Then I got a Zwift membership and speed/cadence sensors to sync with Zwift/my watch.

I have a Saris 2 bike and overall I like it. I also bought 3m clear film and cut pieces out where the rack or bikes might come in contact with the car to protect the paint.

There are rough edges and caps in the two cast metal halves of the cooling box. I would expect this from the cheap overseas products but not one of the more expensive USA made trainers. I understand the manufacturer is running at full speed due to the pandemic, but that is no excuse for poor quality...

The instructions were very clear and easy to follow. The trainer is well made. The only problem for us was that it is too noisy. We now got a stationary bike from and friend and it is much quieter.

Not as well-made as the original cycle ops trainer but it’s sturdy and does the job. Doesn’t quite spin as smoothly as the original cyclops trainer that works well.
