SVS Ultra Center - Flagship Center Channel Speaker from SVS - Unboxing, Demo & Review

Voices are very clear. However, I am not using the same brand for my front speakers. My front speakers are PSB stratus silver speakers (pretty old, but good). The SVS Ultra has very bright highs and mids

Good bright sound, beautiful design. Thin bass, compared to high end speakers.

 Although it has a classier look, the glossy finish tends to be both a dust and fingerprint magnet as well as the fact that it may create some reflections from your display especially in a dark room. So I am all in on team black oak or any matte finish for that matter. It also has some peg attached speaker grills which I'd rather them be magnetic especially in this price range but I wouldn't keep them on either way so I guess it doesn't really matter much in my case. You might feel differently though

 So if you're interested to hear them for yourself in my room with all the caveats that recording and watching online dictates, then you should definitely listen for yourself to hear just how impressive they are. But let's not jump ahead to performance yet, before let's talk a little bit about the specs so that those of you who are unfamiliar with them are brought up to speed. Now, these I think are some very unique looking speakers and that's because of the bass drivers in the bass. Now, it has two 6

 Even in really challenging scenes I like to use for testing like the intro to Wonder Woman where the bass was rumbling through the center channel while she was narrating, there wasn't a hint of distortion. And that's been the general performance characteristics of the ultraline throughout my time with it. Stereo imaging was really good though. I didn't think it was quite as good as the Arendel 1723s which had their tweeters recessed in a waveguide

 So who are these speakers for? Well, they're for anyone with a medium to large size room who wants really capable full range speakers that don't add coloration to the content you're watching and can definitely create an immersive experience even without a subwoofer, then these speakers should be on your shortlist. How good are the SVS Ultra Tower & Center channel speakers, really?

 Alright so for now I'm gonna lay this right up on top of here. Put a towel down just to protect both speakers. That should work there. I'm gonna place this right on top of it

 Down below we've got a 4 inch mid-range driver and then over here on the sides we have six and a half inch glass fiber composite woofers and just like we saw on the SVS ultra towers around the each one of the drivers and the tweeter we've got this beautiful finish here. Now the front corners have this angled edge right here that starts off wide at the top. It comes down to a point at the bottom as well as it's angled on the bottom. Gets it a really really nice classy finish instead of just being a rectangular shape

 They sound really really nice especially even without needing a subwoofer due to the fact that they've got dual 8-inch drivers. But I'm really excited to get them in here into the theater room. We're gonna move the clips RF73s out of here. I'm also move out the RC64 version 2 so that we can just kind of focus on the SVS ultra center paired with the SVS ultra towers as well as the SVS SB16 ultra subwoofers

SVS Ultra Center Channel Speaker - Unboxing and Initial Impressions

 The PC351 is a 3 channel center that reproduces sounds beautifully, but it wasn't keeping up with my RTI A7 towers. So I upgraded to the RTI A6 to match, and man is that thing huge! First problem was it didn't fit on my mantle, second problem was its only 2 channel. So after much deliberation and research I stumbled upon this SVS Ultra. Wow! Seriously Wow! The size is perfect, and the speakers sound excellent

 It's matched well with my RTI A7 powered with 250 watts RMS. I didn't have to turn down the towers, this speaker keeps up! I loved this speaker so much I bought the SCS Ultra surrounds! All of these are very well made speakers, and SVS has excellent customer support. If you order direct from SVS they offer a free 45 day trial, where they pay 3 day shipping both ways. To me any company that confident in their speakers is worth a trial

 This 3 channel speaker reproduces the full range of sound beautifully. I have the crossover set at 50hz, even though this goes down to 45hz. My subwoofer is more than capable at covering the 18-50hz range. It's being powered with 125 watts RMS, which is plenty to power this

 So after much deliberation and research I stumbled upon this SVS Ultra. Wow! Seriously Wow! The size is perfect, and the speakers sound excellent. This 3 channel speaker reproduces the full range of sound beautifully. I have the crossover set at 50hz, even though this goes down to 45hz

 And well, SVS is well known for their quality and their, there's a sound quality, build quality, their hospitality, their customer service. SVS is a brand that's well, really, really up there in terms of well everything. Yeah, I bought both of these because, well, I wanted to experiment with them and see which one I like most. Because the Prime Center speaker is part of their Prime line and well that's more of their entry level line

 And they are more similar than different. I think that sums it up. This has a bit more detail, a bit more magic in the sound. But when you compare this to others in the channels on the market, this will win every day of the week

 So, yeah, and I didn't have that with this. But when I hooked it up, I was like, that's big sound stage. This is a big sound stage, this is huge. Alright

 I was sitting way, way, I was sitting like, I don't know, that way. Two meters that way. Or three meters even. And I was like, is that speaker next to me on? It sounds like it

SVS Prime VS. Ultra Center Channel [REVIEW]

  I tested it with the new Black Widow movie and it was amazing how much more immersive the experience was without being able to “hear” where the sound came from.  As far as aesthetics, the piano black is so modern looking and fits well with our decor. I was worried that having the piano gloss black would reflect light from the TV or projector, but did not see a bit of reflection. Only gripe is that I wish the grill was held on by magnets

AMAZING SOUND! I upgraded from a Focal center channel because despite it being a high end brand, it sounded “boxy” I could clearly hear what sounds came from the center vs front speakers.  But this thing! WOW! It was incredibly clear, great vocals during movies, smooth blending between center and fronts.  I tested it with the new Black Widow movie and it was amazing how much more immersive the experience was without being able to “hear” where the sound came from.  So this is a much heavier, much bigger speaker with larger drivers, and I hope clearer and deeper dialogue. Let's open this up, now I got this from eBay, this is an open box item. Brand new, it goes for $700, I got it for $600, so that's not too bad, right? Here's the invoice. Alright, so this thing is heavy, so let's get it out of this box

It has two 6.5 inch woofers which is pretty substantial for a center speaker, you don't really associate center channels with any kind of bass or even really decent mid-range, you know it is usually associated with treble and some light mid-range, but look at these woofers, 6.5 inch woofers and then, so the three way design is you have two woofers for low end for bass, the extension is 45 hertz, and then you have a mid-range 4 inch speaker right here, and then you have the tweeter right here for the high end for the vocals

If you look on the back, now this is an 8 ohm speaker, recommended wattage is I believe 20 to 225 watts, and it has four binding posts on the back, so you can bi-amp this bad boy if you want, but I don't think you need to, I won't be doing that, it has two port holes on the back for venting, so yeah, this is much bigger than my SVS Prime Center that I already have up there, and it's much heavier, and it has much larger woofers, so I wonder what kind of bass extension we're going to get out of this thing, I mean I'm not expecting a whole lot because this is a center channel, and I'm probably going to cut the crossover at 80 hertz anyway, so it really isn't going to make a huge difference, but I am hoping that I get clearer, deeper, more authoritative vocals from this Ultra Center than I was getting from the Prime Center that is already upstairs, so what I'm going to do is, I'm going to, in another video, not this particular video, this is just the unboxing, but in another video I'm going to hook up this Ultra, and I'm going to play some demo, maybe some movie dialogue, maybe a quick song or two, and I'm going to do the same thing with the Prime, and I'm going to compare them back and forth, and we're going to see which one sounds better, and I'm hoping that this Ultra Center blows away that Prime, based on everything I've read online, it is quite a bit better than that Prime Center, so time will tell, anyway guys hopefully you've enjoyed this quick unboxing of the SVS Ultra Center, I know I have, and I'm excited to get my hands on this bad boy and hook it up in my home theater, alright guys until next time, peace

SVS ULTRA Center speaker UNBOXING!

I have a Klipsch R-52C that I recently purchased for my Center Channel. For my Front Stage it was paired with my SVS Ultra Towers. The Klipsch was good but in both sensitivity and sound it was not a good match with my Ultra Towers.

 The Ultra Center sounds richer in all aspects. Vocals sound natural and it does an excellent job when you find yourself watching a movie with a great sound track. It steps right up and hangs in with my Ultra Towers and that's saying something. It never feels strained and I have yet to hear a peep of distortion no matter how hard its pushed
