We found that the Sony a7IV was about a stop worse. Even though Sony advertises it as having improved sensor stabilization we couldn't validate that.

Really, at the end of the day, there is not a lot that I feel is worthy of criticism on the a7 IV.

IMHO, if you're really interested in learning and investing in photography, then an interchangeable lens camera makes a lot more sense as your first and primary kit. So, that brings us to the Sony a7IV. Also a great camera, but a $2,500 (body only) full-frame camera when you're just starting out is, again IMHO, overkill.

The Sony Alpha range are great. An a6000 second hand goes for pretty cheap and it's still a great camera. They have a lot of lenses for the Sony mirrorless series also.

Sony A7iv is about as good as they come for a hybrid video/stills camera at the moment

4k 24fps with 10 but 4:2:2 sounds great but when you can’t use it for more than a few minutes. Kind of undermines all the positive features because I didn’t buy a camera with pro video features to jot be able to use it.
