If you're set on Fluance, you could step up to the RT84 ($450) and save some money on the preamp by going with a Rolls VP29 instead ($50 as opposed to the Schiitt's $120). The VP29 sounds very nice at least to my ears. The other $450 turntable I really like is the Audio Technica AT-LP5X, which features a J-shaped tonearm that is preferable to an S-shaped one (just my opinion).

rolls VP29 Phono Preamp. I have moved with this record player and a bunch of hand me down records for almost 12 years without having a proper setup. Finally, after a year in our new house I got it setup and was able to play my first records on it.

I cant figure out why so many folks gave this such stellar reviews. It is not bad buts its not amazing either. Its not quiet...it makes a good amount low hiss and hum.. TL;DR is is that is corrects the eq curve applied to vinyl. The Rolls VP29 is a fine preamp at a good price.
