Some people find them sterile, but in the end it’s just different. Models like the Boss Katana, Roland Jazz Chorus, and Fender Tonemaster series are making some really impressive strides in the way they sound. The pros here are that you really won’t need to think about tube replacement and they may even be lighter than their tube counterparts.

The Roland Jazz Chorus has the cleanest tone of any amp I’ve heard (and that goes for Fender Reverb amps too). It is a solid state and doesn’t do fuzz and distortion too well, but if Dreampop is your focus, this is the best amp for the job.

I suppose if you are a jazz musician and only play icy clean guitar this will serve you well. It is solid state which means minimal maintenance.
