Fender tube amps. Jerry and Duane both used Fender. Jerry's main amp was a Twin Reverb. That's out of your price range, but something like a Blues Jr., Pro Jr, or Hot Rod Deluxe will get you there.

Tons of people love the Hot Rod Deluxe and you'll find them all over the place in bars and whatnot. But I honestly think the Bassbreaker 15 is the real sleeper hit here. Great little amp for basically the same price as the Blues Jr. It has 3 gain stages, so it can do good Fender cleans in low and even in medium, but medium gets you a little more Marshall-ish.

This amp, in my view, sounds great. Read the 5 star reviews for why. I am rating down for only quality reasons. #1.
