I am now more confident to order another pair in some time. Maybe different height and horsehide or so. And now I can also better select a last with narrower heel. In total I am very happy and buying these was a good experience.

Excellent quality shoes but I found those to be about 1 size too large. Fit inside isn't as important as where the shoes flex when you wear them. I've worn dress shoes for awhile for work but have relatively few pairs of boots. My Red Wing Iron Rangers in Charcoal are the closest boots for me to make a comparison. The quality of the Vibergs is incredible. The colors match perfectly on each one, and I only have two very minor complaints.

Knowing this, I ordered these in a size 10.5D since my redwings fit well but are just a little loose and my mid foot has room to move side to side. In terms of a break in, the first few days the only discomfort I experienced was in my arches and the vein that goes up my inner ankle was compressed by the leather. Other than that I had zero problems with break-in and at the two week mark the boots are casually broken in - although I don’t think I could do any serious hiking or backpacking in them yet.
