 And so that's something that we didn't like and specifically applied liquid metal until they were all pretty consistent and about where we wanted them and considered to be the best liquid metal application we could do. But again, the point of this and the point of detailing it is that the third of three attempts for each, the before and the after liquid metal testing result were taken and the other two weren't that great. And that means that there's more variance, more room for thermal performance change when you initially apply the liquid metal than there is over a year of using it as far as this system tells us. Anyway, we can't draw a firm conclusion there, but as far as we know from this testing, there's far more chance for poor performance from just a bad application than there is from aging and that means also that it's really hard to measure differences because if the difference is significantly greater from the way the technician applies liquid metal than it is from the end of the other factors like aging, it's pretty difficult to tell a difference in any kind of testing unless you have some kind of automation to apply liquid metal

 We found later that that improves temperature a bit more, but we left it there as a guide and then let it run for a year or so with liquid metal on it using thermal grizzly conduct or not. There are multiple different types of liquid metal. We didn't test all of them. That's one of the big things here

 Just like the original data that you saw was our third of three attempts to apply liquid metal for the original one-year lawn test. And the reason for that and the reason for bringing it up is that it's sometimes tricky. It can take a few tries to really get liquid metal to work the way you want it. You can get it to work pretty damn well most of the time, but if you're really being a stickler about it, then the surface tension, the amount of liquid metal, the specific way that you applied the IHS, the way the socket clamps and potentially moves the IHS, all of that impacts performance, sometimes more significantly than others where you can get a couple cores that are maybe 90 degrees while all the others are in the high 70s

Overall good quality and efficiency. My MBP 2013 get 5 °C cooler with this thermal compound. But be careful to use it -- if you get too much liquid metal out, you may not able to get them back completely.

 I have noticed that a high-quality nickel plating process will minimize the staining (some manufacturers of water cooling components use a cheaper process). Beware that electroless nickel plating will stain much easier with this TIM (do not know the reason why but I do know that electroless nickel plating is thinner than standard nickel plating on current manufacturing processes). IT IS PERFECTLY FINE ON THE SILICON (THE DIE), THOUGH, AS IT JUST WIPES AWAY EASILY AND CLEANLY, AND THAT IS A GOOD THING.  Yes, it is based on Gallium and IT SHOULD NEVER BE USED WHERE THERE IS CONTACT WITH ALUMINUM! If you don't believe me, then do the research or put some of this on that ever-increasing pile of Intel heatsinks building up in your closet

The media could not be loaded. Best TIM (thermal interface material) for the price.  Though I cannot find definite specifications of this TIM, I will say that it does work better than all others I have tried including Coollaboratory Liquid Ultra. The Ultra version sacrifices some thermal conductivity for easier application

So the famed De8auer did a test on like 30 different TIMs and this one is THE number one best performing Liquid Metal, it beats the Coollaboratory Conductonaut even.  Also it's an awesome price and has prime, what more could you want? Buy it already. I delidded my 8700k and used this between the IHS and die, and it lowered temps drastically. And there's a ton left over for future needs

... less is more! You want to squeeze the tiniest little dot you can make with the syringe needle on this, and then spread it out with a cue tip or what have you

 Temps would definitely be better if using a blower style GPU and much more if on a full custom loop!  P.S. My cooler is the Scythe Mugen 5. Used NT-H1 as TIM between the IHS and the heatsink
