 Don't confuse this with thinning hair. Mine is the kind that if there's no hair gel in it, it flops around in the slightest breeze. If I had to guess the length of my hair at the time of cutting it, it was 1 1/2" at the shortest but more probably 2" long. The problem is that as I ran the clippers through my hair, my hair would just fall down and not get cut

 I decided to go with these because as one reviewer mentioned, the Classic 76 was a bit big and heavy which made it difficult to cut your own hair, which is what I was planning on doing. I received the clippers and the 10-piece recommended comb set and ran to the bathroom to get to work. I put on the 1 1/4" comb and got to work. I ran it through my hair, but there was no sound of cutting

 Now my final thoughts on this clipper: It does a decent job on cutting bulk. It is also very forgiving. When you do fade haircuts, It's great. for beginner barbers, it's not too precise

 So ergonomically, it works quite well. I like it. It's quite user friendly, so the clippers came with lubricating oil and also this little brush to wipe off the extra hair, but instead of using that, I typically use a toothbrush. It just cleans it a lot better that way

 The clipper cuts great, but they get clogged very easy and you constantly have to brush off the blade repeatedly. I lubricate the clipper after every use and I still find that the clipper gets clogged/jammed with hairs. I am still able to complete my haircut, but it’s just an added annoyance that I am brushing away the blade constantly.  Quietness: I don’t know what a quiet clipper sounds like, but my particular fast feeds do NOT sound quiet at all

 They get louder when hair gets jammed and even with a consistent oiling Schedule there is a decently overall Loud humming sound when the clipper is on. I will say that it’s quieter than the classic 76s since the motors are different, but aside from that I don’t consider them quiet by any means.  Overall: I give the clipper 3.8-4/5

Good, but not Great..

 + The distance between the cutting blades and the metal comb attached to the clipper is adjustable with a lever. + By taking the comb off, I'm able to get a pretty decent shave with the clipper on my face and neck. It's decent for leaving stubble, not a close shave. + It never pulls my hair, regardless of how fast I cut it

 + For the 2 past two years it's been very dependable. It just runs and cuts my hair perfectly every time. + It comes with 4 combs. 1/2", 1/4", 3/8", and Blending

  Cons: - My clipper has always been pretty quiet but as soon as I put a comb on it buzzes really loud. - It's not the most powerful clipper on the market. I usually have to go over the same spot on my head 2-3 times before I get all of the loose hairs.  I oil the blade every time I use my clippers and so far they've been extremely dependable and still cut very well

I've been shaving my own hair since the 7th grade and I'm about to turn 33. I would say I'm qualified at this point to review a hair clipper. This is about the 10th clipper I've owned over the years and the first semi-nice pair of clippers I've ever had.  Pros: + Nicely made

. it is winter here in the North East, so that was a plus, have no problems with the heat being generated.  To sum up, this a is a good, strong, reliable pair of clippers unlike the rechargeable variety one finds in the drug stores.
