Opus 88

Given their reputation I would assume the latter. - [Vanness Pen Shop](https://vanness1938.com/) - I just bought my first pen from there, a somewhat hard to find lipstick purple Opus 88 Omar. They were the only ones with it in stock (I think its new or something, but I've been unable to find info; I expect we'll see it more available soon.) I can't speak on their quality yet as I am awaiting shipment, but they seem to be well liked by reviewers.

Get rid of short pens that can't post, like the Pelikan Stolla III. On that first pass you should be able to go from 100 pens to 30 to 50. Those pens in the "keep pile" should be pens like the Vanishing Points, the 3776, the 74, the Opus 88, the Pelikans, the twsbi Precision or Classic, the Prera, etc.

So I've come to love the Opus 88. The eyedropper filling system is simple.

Opus 88 for Japanese eyedropper pens, because of their ink capacity, ease of maintenance and better build quality than TWSBI (the acrylic feels more substantial). Japanese eyedropper pens have a shutoff valve, so they're not prone to burping and the ink flow can be regulated - as in with an open valve the pen becomes a wetter writer.

I really like my opus 88 pens. Make sure you like the size because some of them are quite big.

I just got an Opus 88 Jazz with the 1.5mm stub and I love it. I paired it with KWZ Grapefruit and I love it.

Eyedroppers are fine if they have a valve shutoff like what you get with Opus 88 pens. I got a pen from Additive pens that is a simple eyedropper. It was an uncontrollable leaky mess as soon as I took it to work. Even at home it starts to burp, so it's not even a good desk pen.

The Opus 88 Demo is one of my favourite pens! It's quite big compared to other fps, but I find it very comfortable despite not having big hands ( I can just about use my Kaweco Sport unposted). I exchanged the nib for a flex nib, it's very easy when you get a full nib+feed+housing package, just unscrew the housing it came with and screw in the new one.
