I know you can’t get rid of pores but I’m wondering is there anyway to make them smaller? I use La Roche Posay products. They keep my acne mostly at bay but I feel like my pores are just so large. Part of it is genetic, but just wondering if there’s anything else I can do at home to help. Thanks!

 It's definitely keeping up with me and writes well I don't There's not a lot of line variation, it's just a, you know, regular rounded nib. so it's not like an italic or anything like that that should throw you off. But yeah, overall I like it I Must say I'm very pleased with how this pen writes. Overall very good design

 So just seeing the pen in a box, it's kind of cool how it folds up like that, you know? I Don't know if the boxes would be worth keeping for you, but it's not the worst of pen boxes I've seen out there. but anyway, we don't really care that much about the box. Here is the pen. Now this pen is really kind of a neat design

 we are checking out the La Me Mm fountain pen. This comes in a box at all. The higher-end Lommy is the CP one studio come in the accent this is black kind of. I Want to say it feels kind of like a craft paper covered cardboard type thing

LAMY 2000 Fountain Pen First Impression

Lamy 2000 is just as effective. Smooth nib? They both have it. I found out after using both pens that the Visconti is far too heavy for me.

 (I know there is a stainless steel version of the Lamy 2000, but (1) it's much more expensive, and (2) it doesn't have a window to view the ink level. For me, the stainless steel version is not worth buying.)

  Overall, I am extremely happy with the Lamy 2000. I wish Lamy manufactured a color other than black, so I could keep a couple of Lamy 2000 with me at all times, with different ink colors. (I know there is a stainless steel version of the Lamy 2000, but (1) it's much more expensive, and (2) it doesn't have a window to view the ink level. For me, the stainless steel version is not worth buying

Beautiful pen, great functionality and value

 The pen writes very smoothly. All the time, every time.  So, I have nothing but praise for the Lamy 2000.  The vendor was also worthy of praise

 The price was great. And the pen was delivered a full week sooner than I expected. At this price, if you are looking for a fountain pen you can't go wrong. In fact, this is as good, or better than many pens twice or three times the price

I work from home, but right now my Lamy 2000 is the only pen I allow out of the house, not only because it’s a solid writer but also because it’s solidly built, and so I’m not afraid of banging it around. My Pilot Custom 823, on the other hand, is like the One Ring…and they all wantsss My Precious for themselves. But it is mine, I tell you.

I know expensive is relative but for me a $100+ pen would be expensive and I don't think I've ever paid more than $30 for a pen.  But I might one day want a nice Pilot or something.  I'm sort of a clutz and I would hate to lose a really nice pen like that and most of my writing is not at home so what do people do with their nice pens?

Full disclosure - I recently put a Metro through the clothes washer and completely ruined the nib, so...yeah.

Do you EDC your "expensive" fountain pens?

Given the great reviews I had high expectations but I don't want to keep on twisting my arm to keep on writing with this pen. I am glad it works for other people, but it's not for me. The problem lies with the grip (sometimes called "section"). My first impression was annoying metal protrusions that help secure the cap in place

Hello! Does anyone here write regularly with a stub nib? I find I'm not fond of F nibs as my writing seems kind of scraggly. I have one B nib pen - a TWSBI Eco. I love how thick the line is but it's quite juicy (which I like but not for daily writing).  I figured my best bet was a M nib pen and they make up the majority of my collection.  I previously wrote with the Pilot Parallel 2.4 mm and it was scratchy and not a pleasant experience.  Today, however, I wrote for the first time with a Lamy Joy 1.5 mm stub and I. Loved. It.  The writing experience was smooth, the line thickness was fantastic and it wasn't super wet.

This has caused me to re-think what kind of pen or nib I want to use on a daily basis. Should I swap out the nib on my TWSBI from B to 1.1mm? Is the juicy factor because of the roundness of the nib? or should I try a B on another pen?  What would you do?

Pen Advice/Suggestion

I agree that Opus 88, specifically the Omar and Demonstrator are chunky. These are the ones I own and like for the oversized style and the models with #6 nib.

I don’t like thin pens. I’m looking for something with some girth. What are my options?
