I had some initial issues with my Optoma UHD60, which does 4K and HDR. I did a firmware update (had to ship the unit back to the manuf), and adjusted some of the settings to my liking and now it works perfectly. I use it for at least 10-20 hours per week and the colors are bright and clear, resolution is amazing and consistent.

A better comparison for the Epson would be the Optoma UHD60 (see links), which is also a 4k lamp projector, but a dated model like the Epson is. It's $1k less than the UHZ50 laser projector, but I think the UHZ50 is probably worth it (I'm about to upgrade from the UHD60 and have been researching Epson and Optoma).

This was an ok/good projector. What I did not like was; #1 the overall quality of build. The casing is very flimsy and cheap. There is a door that opens on the top to access controls, but when you try and close it you wind up misaligning the projector (if ceiling mounted). All the onboard dials etc ...

However, I wouldn't upgrade from a UHD60 as it's not a significant upgrade. I would look into something better or wait till you got really bored with it.
