My projector is set up in a permanently dark room and onto a ~140” screen. I want something that really shines at movies with a good dynamic range and deep blacks but also has a decent refresh rate for gaming. Currently looking at the Optoma UHD38 which is stacked in terms of specs…..on paper.

Currently rocking with an Optoma UHD15ALV on an Xbox One X. I want to buy the new Series X soon and I'd love to pair it up with a next gen projector. I know this is already a 4k projector, but from what I've seen this projector is focused on being "smart" with its key features being Alexa compatible and what not. I don't really care about that. The UHD38 at least SEEMS more gaming oriented.

I just purchased an new uhd38 optoma projector to replace my old optoma hd28e that died. Im running it out of my onkyo tx-rn646 receiver. The old projector worked fine through it and now the new doesnt project the image. Ive plugged directly in to my PS4 and the projector works fine but when I plug it back in to the onkyo it wont pick up the hdmi source.
