Onyx Boox Poke 3

It makes articles as easy to read as ebooks, and even though it's only been a day I just love it. The only thing I'd change is for it to have it's own search page rather than use duck duck go's screen. The browser has a page on GitHub though, so I should probably pop over and suggest it. Honestly, this browser has made it so I have started reading internet articles on my ereader, rather than my phone, which was one too painful before even though that's one of the main reasons I bought the Boox Poke 3.

Then I ordered the Boox Poke 3 instead and MAN what a difference. It didn't take long until I returned the Tolino. You can install just about any APK on it and customize a ton. I also installed Syncthing and Fluent Navigation Gestures.

I would recommend Onyx Boox Poke 3. It is decently priced at 190 dollars and runs on Android 10. It's screen is 6 inches. I myself have their Nova 2 (it's 7.8 inches) and I use is daily.

Why I like my likebook p78 but did not like the Onyx Boox Poke 3 :. 1.) It is more focused on being an ereader and does not try to be too much of a tablet.

\- Onyx Boox Poke 3: Having Android would be great for the occasional Fanfiction reading out of their respective Apps. However is having Android as OS worth having the 50€ increase?

You would need an android ereader unless you’re familiar with and plan to use calibre+apprentice alf. That leaves you with Onyx Boox Poke 3 or Boyue Likebook P6. If you do plan on stripping drm, then you have linux based ereaders like Pocketbook and Kobo which allow you to run KOReader if you don’t like the stock reading software.

I just wanted to share my findings in case it helps anyone. My set-up consists of an Onyx Box Poke 3 and three Apple devices (MacBook, iPad, iPhone).

The Onyx Poke 3 (black and white) is $190 and uses USB C. There are a lot of Likebooks and Onyxes that do, but I think the Poke 3 is the cheapest one. Kindles and Kobos are still using micro USB I think.
