Also the vocals are really too far in the background for many many songs. So all in all I would say the Neumann muddy up all mixes and depict a kind of false image of the reference mixes (I know linear headphones don't really exist though). What I have found is that if you can get your mix to sound good on the NDH-20's, it's going to sound good on everything. The NDH-20 are made for mixing music, not necessarily for enjoying it. I don't know another way to word it. I prefer listening to music on my DT990s in all honesty but I love mixing on the Neumann's.

Riffs, Beards & Gear actually does mixing comparisons on his channel for the equipment he reviews which is a great way to show how competent they are for mixing, he first plays a track mixed with his professional studio monitors then with the headphones in question. Sadly he isn't a headphone review I think, he just happens to have a couple reviews about them. His mix with the Neumann NDH 20 actually came surprisingly close to his monitor mix.
