JBL Synthesis System, a dream come true

For analog signals a Technics SL-1200 with Nagaoka MP-200 is fed into an Audio Research SP-9 preamp. The sound is non-fatiguing, has impressive soundstage and dynamics. These speakers were very difficult to find in the US as they were primarily marketed in Asia. The setup provides a very engaging sound that makes you tap your foot along to the music.

Worth every penny

I have spent quite a bit of cash on various cartridges and turntables in the past 3 years. I had an Onkyo turntable that I spent the extra $ to upgrade to an Ortofon 2M Blue initially I was impressed but after listening for extended periods it sounded very forward, CD like depending on the music. Splurged last weekend on a set of Heresy IVs and a Naim Uniti Atom

My current vinyl setup is... Nagaoka MP-200 (another upgrade from the past year) > Technics SL1200 MK2 > Cambridge Audio Alva Duo > Naim Atom > Klipsch Heresy IV. For digital, I'm just running Roon through the Atom. Differences between the old and new...vinyl sounds more detailed, with a bigger, more expansive soundstage. (I'm pretty sure the MP-200 and Duo are helping bring out that detail as well.)

More Linton Love!

Paired with my Rega P3 + MP-200 + Schiit Mani, and powered by a Yamaha A-S801, I am extremely happy with the sound I get. Smooth like butter and chocolate, the Lintons are warm and romantic. A very musical sounding speaker that provides an intimate listening experience that you can enjoy at higher volumes for long periods of time without fatigue.

New Turntable and Cartridge Day! Rega Planar 3 + Nagaoka MP-200

Both decks are similar in price, however the Nag is about $115 (CAD) more expensive than the 2M Bronze. However, I MUCH prefer the sound of this combo. For reference, I’m still using the Schiit Mani, running into a Yamaha AS-801. I can’t add much more to what has already been said about the MP-200 but what a beautiful sound this thing makes.

New Fluance RT85 tonearm wobble, not normal? Suggestions?

I really like this turntable, with. a Nagaoka MP-200 cartridge, Jelco HS-25 headshell, Herbie's Way Excellent II platter mat, and Big Ben stabilizer weight. The only other turntable at this price point that seems worth considering is the Rega P3.

Technics SL-1200Mk7 or SL-100C for $1,000. MUCH better than Fluance. Schiit Mani. Cartridge of your choice. I really like the Nagaoka MP-200.
