 I'm back with a video review and this time I'm looking at the Merkur Future Adjustable Safety Razor. This is an absolutely wonderful razor, let's get right to it. This is a heavy weight razor, this is probably one of the heaviest razors I have in my collection now, really, really very heavy, very substantial, built like a tank, yet it's very well balanced. When you hold it in the indentation handle area right here, this little indentation handle, when you hold it in there, it just feels right in the hand, really, really very, very nice

 Highly chromed to a mirror polish, absolutely beautiful, and it's got this space age razor head and cap here that really is very, very efficient and does a great job in giving you a terrific, terrific shape. Also has an adjustment right here on the collar, you can see right there I have it set to one and the way you adjust it is just by holding the ends of the razor cap here and then, see if I can get that in focus, holding the ends of the razor cap here and just turning the handle so you can turn it up and really turn up the aggression of your shave. So there I'm at four right now. And it does a terrific job, if I turn it all the way up to six, you can see how big that blade gap has gotten, and then of course turn it back down

The Merkur Futur is worth every penny of it's 50 dollar plus price (depending on the type of finish you select)!

This razor is VERY well made!  Not only will you be able to give it your son, he'll be able to give it to his son!

 I'm back with a video review and this time I'm looking at the Merkur Future Adjustable

 This is an absolutely wonderful razor, let's get right to it.

 This is a heavy weight razor, this is probably one of the heaviest razors I have in my collection

 now, really, really very heavy, very substantial, built like a tank, yet it's very well balanced.

 when you hold it in there, it just feels right in the hand, really, really very, very nice.

 The dialing action is very slow, very heavy and weighted, just screams precision, really,

 really very nice and smooth, and the fit and finish on this razor is just impeccable.

 Now loading a razor is very straightforward, you just pop off the cap like that and you

 get your razor blade and just set it in there, right like that, and then you place the cap

 back on top, and then you're done, and that's it, and then you can go ahead and adjust right

 there just by grabbing the ends of the cap here, and of course the ends of the blade

 are enclosed because the cap comes down there and encloses that really nice feature.

 Now I use the increase method when I shave with this razor, that is to say I'll set it

 about two, and then I'll go ahead and I'll do a complete shaving pass, I'll re-lather,

 and then I'll turn it up to about two and a half, then I'll do another complete shaving

 pass, and then I'll rinse and re-lather, and then I'll turn it up again to say three.

 And you get a terrifically close shave using that method, really, really terrific, terrific

 Now these retail for about, oh, $50 to $55 for the chrome version, the matte version is

 a little more expensive, probably about $60, $65, and they also have a gold plated version

 which goes for about $70 to $75, I've even seen it priced at $80, but this chrome version

 is really all you're really going to need, it is really, really terrific.

 And surprisingly, you don't, it really doesn't slip out of your hand much, you get a really

 firm grip of this while you're shaving, so the knurling on most handles that is absent

 here, you really don't miss it, you really do get a nice firm grasp of it, and it gives

 you a terrific shave, and get a lot of nice audio feedback from this, and the efficiency

 starts at level one, which was very surprising, so yes, the more you dial it up, the more

 aggressive it's going to be, but there is just a smoothness to it that is very, very

 surprising, very surprising, and I might add the blade, this is so precise, the blade is

 evenly balanced on each side of the razor head, so it just screams precision, so it

 really is a terrific, terrific razor, if there's a downside, the only downside is you have

 to be very careful when you set it down like this, because it really isn't, it really isn't

 as stable as it should be, and this end cap here has a little indentation, which allows

 you to do that, the other side is a little more rounded, and it doesn't sit there very

 well, so that's probably the only, if there was a downside, I would say that was the only

 downside, so I would definitely check this out, this is absolutely worth the price, the

 Merkur Future Adjustable Safety Razor, this is quickly becoming my favorite adjustable

 safety razor, it is smooth, it is close, it is precise, it is well balanced, don't let

 this large head fool you, it gets into tight areas, underneath your nose, etc., very, very

 well, it is highly maneuverable, absolutely love this razor, and I highly recommend you

 They look the same But I'm telling you Spend the extra money and you'll have a razor for a life that you love Treat it good. Make sure every time you use a wipe it down. It is, you know chrome But this to me is one of my favorite razors Once you get done using it Wipe it off put it in a garage treat it good like you would your sports car and This thing will perform endlessly for you now as far as blades All you do is you just Lift up the top the blade sits right here. Okay I'll put this back on to show you just snaps into place one of these sides has an indent and One of the sides is like flush So literally just lift it off Right here and That blade will be sitting on top So right there I've got an Astra green right now in SP So there's a spring in here and that just keeps it so it's easy to put on Put off clicks in place simple Amazing engineering amazing razor

 That's a sharp blade if you try to Twist this with wet hands during a shave and your finger slit. They're gonna go right through that blade Okay, I've shaved very many times with this I'm very comfortable with it and it's happened to me one time once that's it Because I just thought oh, yeah, I know this thing but Aside from that when you adjust it be very careful And adjust it with dry hands, okay, just be aware of that blade. So you have this blade gap Right here and Adjust it up Show you on setting six how much Blade gap there is those channels in between that are going to make sure That there's plenty of room for the whiskers to go and it just slices them off your face and You know the shaving cream You know shave soap lather, whatever that's gonna just flow right out that channel So easily But yeah, setting six, there's nothing that'll this thing won't cut I mean, I have no question if I was to just Take this here one pass it wipe right off Setting one It'll do more than you think it will do on setting one. I promise you that So it's a great place to start And it will give you everything you ever need in between It's made in Germany

 So this is the chrome version. This is the Merkur future and Let me just give you some really up-close Views here It is weighted very nice where it indents. That's where the center of balance is on this razor This razor is very weighty. Okay, it is Definitely on the hefty side for razors So if you do not like hefty razors, this is not the razor for you However, if you're like me you love them So what this razor is besides sexy sleek smooth is a Fantastic shaver and a lot of that is in part to the weight of the razor
