We have a Maytag we bought about 4 years ago. I thought it was the model with the disposal built-in, but apparently not. It seemed to work fine for a while, but there's a filter at the bottom that gets gummed up and then we get food bits all over the dishes. We've ordered replacement filters a few times now, but after 2-3 months the filter is gummed up and needs to be replaced.

My washer went out this year and my research led me to a Maytag Commercial washer. It seems very robust, top load, agitator, fills with water…not many bells and whistles - knobs and lights. It gets the job done pretty good.

Hey all, so the research I’ve been doing says that the best washer seems to be a mechanical speed queen or Maytag. However, my partner and I have had nothing but trouble with agitators in terms of damage to our clothes. We don’t have kids, so we don’t have super frequent stains. However, it seems like everyone here hates top loaders without the agitators so I guess that leads me to front load washers.
