The control panel is the most expensive part of the dishwasher, it is not covered by the 10 year parts warranty, and it was evidently not designed or built for long-term survivability. It can't be repaired because its design is proprietary. Since this two-year old dishwasher model is now obsolete (no doubt because it was poorly designed), so is the control panel!

The top rack has space for shallow overturned dishes, but they do not get clean reliably, because dishes or pots in the middle rack block the spray from below. The top rack is useful only for silverware placed on edge in the slots provided so that the spray from above does the cleaning. If the top rack is not in use, dishes in the middle rack will get a better spray if the top rack is removed. The racks are designed primarily for plates and shallow bowls

Hey all, so the research I’ve been doing says that the best washer seems to be a mechanical speed queen or Maytag. However, my partner and I have had nothing but trouble with agitators in terms of damage to our clothes. We don’t have kids, so we don’t have super frequent stains.

Cleaning the filter system in this dishwasher is easy: 1) pull bottom rack outwards to expose inside bottom of washer 2) turn large plastic knob 1/4 turn counter-clockwise and lift assembly upwards 3) Wipe/rinse assembly as needed and then put assembly back 4) Rotate large plastic knob clockwise until black arrows are aligned again

The simpler, the better. I would avoid front loading washing machines as they tend to have many more issues with leaks and mold. I've always preferred top loading machines as they tend to have higher capacities and modern ones without an agitator work amazingly well. I have a Maytag high capacity top loader that we got about 3 years ago when we bought the house we are in now, its been a great machine

And a final note -- The very long machine serial number, which you will need to activate the warranty, is located only on the right edge of the door. The design of our kitchen has that door edge, when it's open, about three inches from an adjacent cabinet door. Getting the number required removing the cabinet door and using a mirror. The mirror was suggested by Bosch customer service who had obviously heard about this problem many times before -- which raises the question, why doesn't Bosch put it somewhere else? Grrr
