Initially wanted a Bosch, but the sale and added warranty on the KitchenAid were too good to pass up.

Our old bucket of bolts Kenmore broke, and we've been gifted $1100 to go get a new one.

Unfortunately reality caught up with me that every dishwasher brand has some fatal flaw, but Bosch and Miele seem the overall "best" in terms of reliability, and doing.. dishwashing. Kitchen Aid, GE, and Samsung seem a pick your poison situation.

And the cherry on top is our local Home Depot, Lowe's, and Best Buy won't have any Bosch's in until March 2022.

 Any alternatives? are the others *really* that bad? In the U.S.

EDIT: Kept checking at home depot and they had a Bosch 500 series in the warehouse, coming in a week. I can finally sleep well at night awaiting my dishwasher knowing the day of hand cramps are over.

 I'M going to be doing a product review on this kitchenaid dishwasher here model number is kdtm 404 kps ps is going to stand for print shield, so basically what that means. Obviously, you can see my fingers smudging on this appliance, but basically, all that you need to get rid of this is just water and cloth. Usually, if you uh get anything, that's the stainless steel and you don't if you did, that it would smudge even more. So that's what it means by print shield doesn't mean that it's not going to reveal any prints, but basically it's easy, clean up and you can get rid of that super easy

Better at drying plastic dishes than the Bosch 300 Series, and offering a more flexible layout on the bottom rack, this Maytag is another great cleaner with a respectable reputation for reliability. But it has no third rack, it’s kind of loud, and the cycles can be quite long.

 I recommend to save up and buy a real dishwasher, or at least a brand that will continue to work after the 1-year warranty expires. The "10 YEAR Limited Parts Warranty" label that I see every time I look at the dishwasher mocks me, and I despise Maytag. This was my first and last Maytag appliance.  Update: On October 27, 2021, this is what Laura P

 The control panel is the most expensive part of the dishwasher, it is not covered by the 10 year parts warranty, and it was evidently not designed or built for long-term survivability. It can't be repaired because its design is proprietary. Since this two-year old dishwasher model is now obsolete (no doubt because it was poorly designed), so is the control panel!

 I was going to ask whether they are able to get repair parts that the Maytag factory authorized repair service cannot get! I doubt very much that the parts are available. Maytag is trying to squeeze more money out of me for a dishwasher that they know very well cannot be repaired unless and until the control panel becomes available, which may be never. The control panel is the most expensive part of the dishwasher, it is not covered by the 10 year parts warranty, and it was evidently not designed or built for long-term survivability. It can't be repaired because its design is proprietary

 Too bad Virginia does not have a "right to repair" law for consumer products, which would compel the manufacturer to make the parts available for a reasonable number of years.  Since my recent contacts with Maytag, I have just begun receiving emails from Maytag's marketing department offering to sell me a Maytag Service Plan for my Maytag dishwasher through AIG WarrantyGuard, Inc. Maytag is "not affiliated" with AIG, but the email is from Maytag! I tried calling the phone number for "Questions" about the warranty service plan, but after a 10 minute hold, the call is terminated. This happened 3 times in a row

My worst appliance mistake ever

 In fact, it's good. If you ask me a little too much friction, but maybe that goes away with time over here it has the pre-wash little spot here, soap goes in there, you push it to close it and then a rinse aid section as well. Also, we have some dishes in here: here's the pullout, it's what it's interesting, because the doors has a lot of friction to open, but the port out like is super easy to glide in and out almost too much, because when I want to roll it back in You can kind of see it kind of hits it hard, but I guess you'd have to be gentle, so it holds a decent amount, a little less than my old dishwasher, because these pegs are further from each other. But you could argue that that might get you a better wash as well

However, it seems like everyone here hates top loaders without the agitators so I guess that leads me to front load washers. I don’t mind the maintenance of a front loader, I can keep the door open and/or run the maintenance cycle every once in a while, I just want to make sure it won’t break down in a year. Hey all, so the research I’ve been doing says that the best washer seems to be a mechanical speed queen or Maytag. However, my partner and I have had nothing but trouble with agitators in terms of damage to our clothes. We don’t have kids, so we don’t have super frequent stains.

 LG and Samsung are much more expensive to repair as their parts are harder to come by. Plus, Samsung and LG to an extent, don't have the best reputation for reliability. They put a lot of unnecessary junk into their machines that ultimately break, they bring in some unique innovation, but I don't need a wi-fi capable washing machine or a touch screen. That being said, at my old house, I had a Samsung washing machine that was insanely simple--dial knobs, top loader, no frills whatsoever and that machine was excellent

 I've always preferred top loading machines as they tend to have higher capacities and modern ones without an agitator work amazingly well. I have a Maytag high capacity top loader that we got about 3 years ago when we bought the house we are in now, its been a great machine. What I like about it is that its made for large capacity loads and is self-balancing. It takes about 5 minutes for it to start up as it figures out the load and if its too unbalanced it will chime at me and flash that its unbalanced

The simpler, the better. I would avoid front loading washing machines as they tend to have many more issues with leaks and mold. I've always preferred top loading machines as they tend to have higher capacities and modern ones without an agitator work amazingly well. My house came with a washer and dryer. The washer is speedqueen, found a receipt and it was purchased in 1995. It is top load and still works. I believe it's time to get a modern one ( better washing, energy saver, etc). I was thinking of getting a new speedqueen. I like when things last long. However I am not sure about top or front load.

Reasons I dont like my top load washer
1. Cant put a lot of clothes.
2. I dont feel it washes the clothes good.
3. Uses a lot of water.
4. Its ruining my clothes little by little.

But I also heard bad stories about front load.
1. Mold.
2. Smell
3. Hard to repair
4. Expensive to repair
5. Etc

These things are not cheap to try one every 2/years. Thats why I am need your help. Thanks in advance.

It'S already been two weeks

Guy knows this stuff he's got an iPad with the schematics

 Now, if you're going to buy a product - and you want to get good service - and you want it to last - do not buy anything from the Whirlpool Corporation. Not only doesn't it last, they give you a runaround, they give you a hard time. They pretend that that the CEO of the company and you're gon na be not be able to use your appliance for at least three months right, which is ridiculous. They should have just got us a new one, it would have been far cheaper

I threw away my last two 2016 Whirlpool's (I know they are made 'assembled' in the same warehouse) but this beauty is solid and actually washes them, in an era where we actually went to the moon and back
