Saved our mattress from cat pee several times

  Im giving a four star review due to the fact that it's a tad bit loose. It doesn't hug the corners of the matress very tight, which seems fine for my daughter and myself, but my husband is a toss and turn sleeper sometimes, so his corner pops off often. Also, I wouldn't put sheet holds on it, due to the fact that the material that stretches to keep it on the corners is thin, and I feel it would tear easily with extra strain on it.  With all of that said, it's a good buy for the price

 I washed it on gentle, and hung it to dry. I didn't want to risk it in the dryer, even on the "no heat" option.  The protector kept the matress dry, but did stain (I'm sure that's with any cover I assume). It did not fall apart in the wash, and once it dried, back on the bed it went

 I have noticed that after sleeping on the sheet for multiple days, it does need to be put back onto the mattress again because it slides off easy due to how tight it is on the bed. Only the top layer is made out of the water resistant material. The sides are made out of a thin mesh material which can rip easily if it gets caught on anything. Since the sides are made of a mesh material, I fear that a spill on the edge of the bed would go into the mattress

 Even though I have not slept on this sheet directly, I would imagine that it would be comfortable because it is soft and malleable. Other sheets that are water resistant can have a stiff crinkly feel to them, and this one does not.

 My son wets the bed every other night so I need something that I can wash & dry frequently. I think it was the drying cycle that destroyed the waterproofing as it seems to have melted together & the waterproof lining has rubbed off in places. Hanging to dry would probably be best for this product but I don't have a line dryer & don't have time to do that. If you have the time & means to do so this product would probably have a longer waterproofing life

Great cover. We have a dog and two cats so this cover helps protect our mattress from kitty death needle paws or midnight doggy accidents. My only complaint is the material of this makes our bed a bit hot almost like the material the cover is made out of If great at reflecting your body heat back at you. We use cooling sheets (we live in South Central Texas, in the summer heat, cooling sheets are a MUST) and even with that the bed still feels hot
