After a bit of research I was pushed towards the LG SP9YA. I was coming from the oldish Sony HT-CT660 (which is 2.1).

So any soundbar that has optional rear speakers like the LG SP9YA will not reflect the soundbar plus the optional equipment. RTings.com assumes most people won’t buy the optional equipment for a fuller sound. This is true of all their ratings which is why the LG has a low rating for surround sound. Sonos is in a similar position since you’d have to buy the optional equipment for it, like the sub, and that’s usually not reflected in RTings.com ratings either.

We have the LG SP9YA 5.1.2. It's amazing. Sound quality is impressive.

Hey folks,. Just bought the LG SP9YA from bestbuy for $700 or so with tax.

I have the same TV and decided to go with the LG SP9YA soundbar. Great combo in my opinion, have been really happy with it. Works well with the ps5. Just use eARC imo.. tv does pass through audio.

Sp8ya way better than Samsung. I have the sp9ya with rears and love it. Must get the rears it add so much to the experience

To me the LG sounds better. On Rtings, one of the best review platform, they have in depth reviews of the and the [Beam giving the LG a better score.

I heard the quality at a store and took it. I got an LG SP9YA.
