About three years ago I built my own PC and bought and IPS monitor (LG 29UM68-P) for around €230 but before that I always had a TN screen that costed €120. From time to time I need to use or help someone who is using that "old" PC that is still connected to that TN monitor and I kinda feel the same way as you do. I'm actually glad that someone posted about this, because up until now I thought it was just me who had this feeling.

The features this monitor offers is nothing short of amazing. Personally, the height is perfect, especially for being only 1080p horizontally and you get great immersion from the width of the monitor. Also very important to mention, I tried using the DP cable I was using with my 29UM68-P (which it worked perfectly with) and I thought the monitor was fucked, tried all different ports on both my GPU and monitor to no avail so I plugged it in with the included DP cable and it worked fine - fingers crossed this flickering is a cable issue. Even without freesync they're great value, response times are solid and on the middle mode I get zero inverse ghosting, honestly the only major thing I can complain about is Freesync is basically useless, there IS definitely some backlight bleed but my IPS panel was worse, you only ever notice it with a fully black screen. For what it's worth, I'm also currently running a 1080. Expected way worse performance going from 2560x1080 to 3440x1440 but it appears I was more CPU bound than I thought lol.
