Shoes can be one of the heaviest bulkiest items to manage in a onebag wardrobe. Women's thin strap sandals and "barefoot" walking sandals are the easiest to manage but provide little or no support and protection for walking all day on hard rough pavement. I have tried a number of sandal designs with good support. Keen H2 sandals are my favorite, but weigh 31 ounces (US men's 11/EU 45).

If you keep an eye on amazon, using a price tracker like camelizer, you can often find them deeply discounted from their ~$100 msrp. Also, when looking for a "water hiking sandal" type shoe, make sure the back of the shoe is open below the heel strap so you can shed sand/pebbles easier. The Keen H2 is arranged this way but the Teva omnium and a few others have a vertical strap behind the heel which traps debris.
