i'd be happy with the KBO Hurricane or Ride1Up Roadster, both low(er) budget

These don't have regen braking but they're light ebikes without a throttle...the style looks much like the bike you shared in your post. It's the Ride1up Roadster v2 and the KBO Hurricane. We have both of these and are currently test riding them.

I bought the KBO Hurricane over the Roadster due to the improved power (battery and wattage of motor)... big mistake. First off, the top speed is lower at 20 mph (relative to 24 or 28) and yet it weighs 4 pounds more (diminishing acceleration rate too).

I admit to wishing it had a belt drive but you would be hard pressed to beat the price to performance of this machine. Looking at the description of the KBO Hurricane...it's a beautiful bike....BUT it says "battery can be removed IF NECESSARY."
