I just have a roomba i8 with the dock (it’s the same as the i7 but sold at Costco with some accessories and a bigger battery). We have a mix of carpet, hardwood, and stone tile in the downstairs and it handles all of them like a champ. It took a while to make the map, but once that was in it has been smooth sailing.

I have it going every other night, have zone marked (via app) so that it won't go near my cat's litterbox and accidentally drag poop across the rest of my floor. The self emptying is key. I only have to replace the bag every 3 months instead of dumping the vacuumed junk into the garbage. I have 2 dogs, 2 cats and messy kids.

I got the Roomba i8+ from Costco and I love it. I've had good experiences with Roomba. A friend of mine got the Shark and ended up returning it 2 days later out of frustration. I don't know the specifics, only that he hated it.

I have both (roomba i8+ and a roborock s7+) and the roomba seems like it’a missing 50 IQ points compared to the roborock s7 . Once you have a LiDAR bot the Idiosyncrasies of a VLAM bot seems really dumb. LiDAR (roborock) bots can see the room, travel faster to where they are going and clean more efficiently. VSLAM (roomba) will literally slam into objects in your house, gets lost easier, gets stuck easier and in general takes way more time to get the job done.
