960 and 980 not ready for primetime, save your money on a lesser model.
Roomba does not live up to expectations, and the major benefit of paying for the 900 series does not in fact work reliably. Let me start by saying I was a very happy Roomba user for months. It worked flawlessly. Then iRobot flashed the firmware and obviously made significant changes to the logic han...
iRobot Roomba 960
The iRobot Roomba 960 is a well-built robot vacuum with a ton of automation features that some other robot vacuums don't have. It has a camera on top that helps it navigate around a room and locate itself. Its smart pathing feature is efficient at moving around and cleaning a room, and once it's don...
iRobot Roomba 960 Review
It'll get you a thorough, whisper-quiet clean for a fraction of the price, though that's about all it does. The iRobot Roomba 960 isn't cheap, but thanks to a mix of premium features and performance, it's the best high-end robot vacuum for the price. Long haired pets be prepared!
PET OWNERS- I’ve hesitated on posting this and what rating to give it. I do really like my roomba, and I’m running it daily. BUT we opted for the more expensive “pet friendly” version as we’d just ordered new carpet and wanted to keep the pet hair under control. Our roomba arrived the same day as th...
Roomba 960 Review - Vacuum Wars
It had nearly perfect coverage, and it did so in 34 minutes, which was 1 minute faster than the Roomba s9 3. Quick pros are that it's extremely well-built Roombas have always been really solidly built, and the 960 is a very nice piece of engineering. It also has a much bigger dust spend than average at 600 milliliters and, like all Roombas, there are a ton of spare parts available online
My roomba 960 is extremely picky about charging and has to be situated on the dock just right or it won't charge. I have to spend a while slightly nudging it left/right/up/down until it sits perfectly correct and charges. And during that whole process, every time it makes proper contact for a split second then comes off, I'm greeted with another blast of "PLEASE CHARGE ROOMBA" until I'm ready to burn my house down.
Works only 4 out of 10 times. Has too many known defects. WAY overpriced compared to better performing competitors.
The media could not be loaded. I had high hopes for this robot, considering I thought I was buying the top-of-the-line unit from the company best known for robot vacuums. I've had a Neato since 2012 - so I was excited to finally "upgrade" to the industry leader. Turns out, in a majority of instances...
Robot vacuum suggestion (now that I have a better idea of what I need)
I have it going every other night, have zone marked (via app) so that it won't go near my cat's litterbox and accidentally drag poop across the rest of my floor. The self emptying is key. I only have to replace the bag every 3 months instead of dumping the vacuumed junk into the garbage. I have 2 dogs, 2 cats and messy kids.
