I can't say I know how this works because the one I received had been used and had missing parts. But it was tricky to seat the two water tanks into place. That's when I discovered there were parts missing so I didn't go any further. I've read good reviews though.

It works great when it's working...at first both sides of drained with a little adjusting to the left tank. Now after a few months, the left side tank doesnt drain at all. It does help the humidity though.
