Google Home Mini

So, like there's stuff that hasn't been fully activated yet I can't do texting yet on my Google homes, but that's something that'll be available soon....

I picked this one up from an antique store for 3$. It was damaged and "needed work". So me and my Dad gutted the insides of it, and replaced the old broken light in the front pane with an changeable remote controlled led strip piece, and then took the speaker, cut the cone out, broke the magnet off of it and mounted a Google Home Mini (v1) into the speaker spot.

Hi all! I've been using the first variant of a Google Home Mini for the last 2 years, but it has become so bad during the last year, even for the most basic commands, that I've realized how frustrated I get having to keep telling the same command over and over again until this little bastard understands that I want to turn off the light instead of searching for lighting stores. :). I have gone again through the voice recognition setup, I did a full reset, I have cleaned everything with compressed air to make sure the microphones aren't clogged or anything, but from what I see from other's posts, it's just that this device has became way too unreliable in the last period.

I get the subject error message, whenever I say "hey google" to my 1st gen google home mini. Only started a few days ago, works fine right after that. Only one person in the home gets the message, others do not. Sometimes the mini says, "hmmm, there was a problem, try again later".

The Home Mini is best suited for those that live deep in Google’s ecosystem (and don’t have their work accounts tied to G Suite).

I had Alexa. About two years ago i received a free Google home mini and put it next to my Alexa dot. I quickly realized the Google home heard my request better, was clearer sounding when responding, and most of the time gave me better results.

The product is great and the few days I have used it has been fun for the whole family but I did test the care plan procedures and they are way different than it used to be... now is terrible.

After trying MANY cables, it starts up and says "Hi, this is Google home mini". It doesn't set up through the app tho :|.
