 That can't be it, right? The new Echo Show 8 had a new processor and its camera followed you around the room. I mean, not particularly well, but that was something, right? Nope, That is it. Oh, and if you're buying it for a full price, which you shouldn't do because these things sell for crazy discounts all the time. But if you are buying it at full price, then it's five dollars cheaper than the show Five originally was at 85 rather than 90

Amazon Echo Show 5 (2nd Gen, 2021 edition): What I like, and what I definitely DON'T

Aesthetically, the Echo Show has a black frame with a white mat, resembling a standard picture frame. Tech-wise it looks like the Samsung Frame TV and the Facebook Portal had a baby. It comes in one color, and you can’t change the familiar Alexa blue background behind the widgets — I’d like to see some customization options all around. Two 1

My dad died 2 months or so ago and he was a programmer, all his life he worked in jobs centred around programming.

I'm 14, and my dad would always try his best to get me interested in programming (he succeeded btw). A couple weeks before he died, I was talking to him about how i would like one of those alexas with a screen" (is basically what i said, what i meant was an [Echo Show](https://www.amazon.co.uk/echo-show-5-2nd-generation-2021-release/dp/B08KGTW3CV)).

He responded with, "whats the point in buying one when we could build and code our own one ourselves, that would be exactly how *we* want it?"

Now, obviously we wouldn't be able to replicate an exact echo show, but i was wondering if anyone could tell me what direction he was going in with that idea maybe? Or, if anyone could simply help me try finish his project that me and him were gonna do together. If anyone has any help about what i would need to buy, where i should start code wise, or anything else please please please tell me!!

i personally thought it would be perfect to do on a Raspberry Pi, and i bought one today- the Raspberry Pi 4 :)

i was thinking of coding it using python cause thats what i know the most about

Why is my echo show doing this? It just fades between the same Lock Screen every couple seconds, it’s not changing screens, just fading to black momentarily
