I was so glad that I got this out and did the review because I haven't listened to vinyl a lot lately.

Will likely upgrade the cartridge (Shure M75) to a new one next, thinking about Goldring E3 after Stereophile's raving review). Obviously a beginner setup doubling as home cinema. The 3rd picture shows the sliding walls open to reveal the projection area for the projector.

I have been running value priced Grado cartridges and recently the Ortofon 2m blue on by basis turntable. I decided to try the Goldring E3 based on some good reviews. Bottom line, I like it. So, I swapped my cart on the Debut to the Goldring e3. Straight away the sound was like a relief, much more relaxed, sibilance controlled and still detailed with width/depth.

If you're looking in the sub $200 range for a cart, the goldring E3 can't be beat. It punches above its price point with excellent imaging and dynamics. I bought it to replace my ortofon 2m blue which had worn out and I like it way more than that.

This was given to me 25 years ago and it's still going strong, everything works perfectly. It has a Goldring E3 cartridge that suits it well. I'm running it through a Yamaha RX-397 into a pair of Monitor Audio Bronze 2 speakers.

Best sub $200 cartridge on the market today. Be aware that it has a super sensitive cantilever , one unwitting thump on the platter and it’s destroyed.

TBH in the US I don’t think the Goldring E3 is anything special for the money (bonded elliptical, comparable to the Ortofon 2M Red). Further, there are no stylus upgrades available (as yet) for that cartridge body. If you were looking at the pricier Goldring 10xx (eg 1006) series or even the MI 2x00 (2100 or 2200) series then that’d be another matter. Other than the Sumiko, which does have a range of stylus upgrades, I’d suggest the AT VM95 range - the VM95ML is a great value high performance MM cartridge with a MicroLine stylus - or even the VM540ML.

All I can say is WOW! Although the Goldring E series is their entry level line and is built in China by Audio Technica to Goldring's specs, it punches way above its weight.
