Garmin Edge Explore

* Interface: It all works, but most settings are only adjustable in the watch, and the meanings of settings aren't always clear without a google search. It would be great if an app could adjust and explain all the settings for ease of use. * Syncing: Most of the time it syncs via bluetooth to my phone inside the Connect app automatically, sometimes I have to refresh it or have it sync from the watch menu. Clunky at times, but only an issue once or twice.

If not in features for the specific activity, then for price or battery life. I use a Garmin Edge Explore for my touring computer, which I love for many reasons.

Update 3/2021: What was once a reliable 12 hour battery is now down to 3 or 4. That's no good. Garmin Edge Explore. Has a larger screen than 530, far cheaper than 1030 because it removes the race and training features like power meter support.

I'm torn about this device (but see update below). I really like the navigation features. The turn by turn instructions work very well and the map is actually readable. BUT .... the screen freezes when switching between screens. I think its swiping down that I hit it (going into the widget screens)....

I think this works quite well. The map display is much bigger than on most bicycle GPS devices, and the user interface very good. You can turn off cellular and wifi while riding, and have the screen off as well as other power saving options.

The screen resolution and graphics are very good. That battery life is average. I estimate that I burn about 15% of a full charge per hour at 70% screen brightness.
