I had a Wahoo computer before (first-gen ELEMNT) and it was nice, but clunky. Right now I use Garmin Edge 1030 Plus (not on a commuter bike, obviously - it has a phone mount and that's enough for it - but on a road bike). It is obviously more expensive, but it's also miles ahead in terms of features and usability.

Can’t go wrong with the Garmin Edge series. However, nothing will be like your iPhone. Cycling computers are not smart phones. The features and UI are vastly different.

If you have used other Edge products you will have no problem setting up and using the 1030 plus.

Great for all uses and it does a great job with route finding. The setup that worked really well for me when touring abroad was to use Maps.me on my phone to explore a map (easier than the gps screen) and find a location that i wanted to go to, and then find it on the gps and let it route to it. I also have a front dynohub with a front light hooked up to the hub, which also has a USB port.
