Fireflies NOV-MU 21 - 1st Running water test, fail at head, tail, and bezel. 2nd Bigger orings/lube and only bezel leak. Clean and lube bezel and swap oring. 3rd Bezel still leaks and the rest shows signs of slow intrusion. IP66 rating which is high pressure jets any direction.

I've been working with a realtor for the past several weeks and he's been great. Every time we see a house, the first thing he does is dive into the darkest, dankest crawlspaces and corners and start looking for signs of water intrusion, mold, or other problems. I've crawled through many of the dark places of the earth with this guy, he with his $3 tactical flashlight, me with my zebralight.

Now after several weeks of looking, circumstances have changed at it looks like I'm going to buy  a house across state lines, where he's not a licensed realtor. I hate that he won't get a commission after all the work he's done for me, so I want to buy him a gift.

Here's what I'm looking for:

\- High CRI

\- Impressively bright (pants-on-fire bright would be ideal but not necessary)

\- Sexy (compact, sleek, great out-of-the-box wow factor)

\- More floody than spotty

\- Muggle Friendly: a simple UI is nice, but more important is making sure he doesn't have to think about over-charging or over-discharging unprotected cells. USB charging is ideal.

This probably rules out options like the FW3A, D4V2, and 1x18650 Zebralights unless someone can recommend a dead-simple, reliable charger that will allow him to never think about the fact that the batteries are unprotected.

Hey yall! After a good 5 years of being satisfied with my olight cu mini baton, I've been bitten by the flashlight bug once more. I'm looking for a light that will pull double duty as a video/photography light, and can be clipped to bike handlebars.


My criteria are:

-around 5000ish lumen turbo (rules out fw3a, d4 class lights)

-floody

-can sustain 500 lumens for 90 mins to 2 hours 

-ramping ui (Anduril preferred)

-sst20 or other high cri 4000k option (rules out imalent ms03, nightwatch nsx4, astrolux ec03, lumintop fw21 pro)

-side switch preferred 

-usb port preferred 

-21700 cell preferred, but can go up to 26650 if needed  (or 18650)

-single cell, so no can-style lights

-200 to 350 grams with battery 

-shorter than 6 inches, closer to 4 preferred 

-cuddly, good with children, wait  ... wrong list 


Here's the killer: I use my baton, and my old thrunite in moonlight mode a lot. I keep having to rule out lights because reviews mention visible flickering in low modes. So I thought limiting my list to lights with constant current drivers would solve my issue. Here's what I have so far:

Fireflies e12r: has hi-cri options, sustains 900 lumens, usb charging, lume1 driver. But Flashaholic on YouTube mentions visible flickering at low modes. Dang!

Noctigon k9.3: looks cool, hi cri options for both channels, 600 lumens sustained, nicely hidden usb port... but the edctips review says "The light retains the peculiarities of other Noctigon constant current drivers - a fast ramp down low, and some flicker on moonlight."  Whomp whomp.

If I expend to 26650, I find the Emisar D4s v2 and astrolux mf01 mini as options. But I can't find a labeled runtime graph or pwm info.

Anyone have some insight?  I've spent days scouring storefronts and reviews hoping I've missed  some obvious contender.

#1 favorite light

As TG said, Fireflies latest are pretty good - E12R & E07X but the one getting most use atm due to size is FWAA. Great pocket light.  4click lockout and u still have two levels of momentary to use at night.

Bought a sofirn LT1 light, and it's probably the most interesting method of counting I have ever learned.  I was playing with the light and my wife thought i was signaling morse code.  I would be cool to learn, but i showed her how i could if i wanted to.  

Ive always been interested in edc gear, but have only sorta been into lights.  I didn't know how advanced an anduril ui was until i received the lantern.

With that being said, what are your favorite Anduril lights?  I may be looking to get one.
