Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 8350

Unfortunately this was not the case - any darker image that I tried immediately looked grey and washed out. I set the lamp to eco mode and lowered the brightness from 50 to about 45 where it started to lose detail, but nothing really did enough to help it. A few other problems also soured the experience, though they could probably have been dealt with if black levels were fine. Most annoying being that that the projector kept losing signal during transitions (menu>loading screen>video), and often not regaining it without stopping and restarting.

I've had this projector for several months now and it has performed flawlessly. However, much to my disappointment the aspect ratio is fixed at 16:9 if the projector is hooked up using the HDMI connections. I can't speak for the Acer, but I installed an 8350 in my theater back in 2012 and am still using it! It is a fantastic bright and nice resolution/color projector. Still holds up very well!

This happens on my epson home cinema usually when I have the projector in eco mode. Must run it at full brightness to keep it from doing this.

Switched from an Epson 8350 to a 4K 5050 UB and haven’t regretted it for a second. I game with a PS5, movies and TV. Yeah, it’s not “native” but it looks amazing. I’m pretty happy with it FWIW. Great projector for gaming.
